Craft Wars Ep. 1

Okay, the premise of this show is that they have two rounds to create the best things and the winner gets $10,000. AKA Cupcake Wars hosted by an eternally preggers Tori Spelling who now has a jewelry line.  I would want to be on this show just to put items from the craft closet under my shirt.

They claim this will be vicious. The only injury I’ve ever had is a glue gun burn.

The first challenge they have to create a duffel bag out of sports equipment. They have one hour. Everyone is using cheer leading uniforms. Lame. Also sewing under pressure is how you ruin sewing machines. Not that I know from experience… Never use spray glue plus a sewing machine. Christy made a bag out of fabric with the equipment added in. Tracy put a tennis racket on the bottom so your stinky stuff can air out. Weird. Also your bag is TENNESSEE ORANGE and that is a God awful color. Cheryl : your duffel bag is crap because you didn’t finish it or construct it well. Those black belts from karate are awful. XOXO Tracy and your orange bag is dunzo.

Round 2 is called the Master Craft Challenge. They bring out more school supplies than a classroom can use in a year. You have to make a playhouse in five hours. Cheryl wants to create details and a barn. Christy wanted to make a bus… and this girl uses modge podge aka my favorite thing. And Christy used chalkboard paint – another love.

In the end, both of the play houses were cute. Cheryl created a barn and Christy created a school bus. The barn is for the OCD child that wants to keep everything neat and pretty…. the school bus is for the rest of the world. I could totally play in the barn and be fine. That being said…. I would want to have my friends over to school bus.

These judges are sass-tastic. Love them. Especially Stephen. =) Hey, I don’t know you, you’re on TV, you wear bowties so call me maybe.

Cheryl won. She didn’t finish her bag in the first challenge and didn’t finish the inside of her barn play house. Aka quitters are rewarded.

TLC has created a show similar to the show Four Weddings called Four Houses. I want no one going through my house looking and judging. Kthanksbye.

Fav. Quotes of the Night:

“Judges hate glue strings” – FYI everyone hates glue strings!

“Crafting is about details”

Here’s the thing this show is basically the same concept as all the Food Network competitive shows (Sorry TLC but it’s true).

Is this a show that I liked? Yes – it was very easy to become invested.

Is this a show I will watch again? Probably it’s fun.

Is this a show I will feel obligated to watch every week? Definitely not. I’ll watch if I remember and I have an awful memory.
